"Sylvia"
April 13-15, 20-22, 2012
Greg and Kate have moved to Manhatten after twenty-two years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg's career as a financial trader is winding down, while Kate's career, as a public-school English teacher, is beginning to offer her more opportunities. Greg brings home a dog he found in the park - or that has found him - bearing only the name "Sylvia" on her name tag. A street-smart mixture of Lab and Poodle, Sylvia becomes a major bone of contention between husband and wife. To Kate, Sylvia becomes a rival for affection. And Sylvia thinks Kate just doesn't understand the relationship between man and dog. The marriage is put in serious jeopardy until, after a series of hilarious and touching complications, Greg and Kate learn to compromise, and Sylvia becomes a valued part of their lives.

"Seussical the Musical"
July 26-29 August 1-5, 2012
The story centers around Horton the Elephant, who finds himself faced with a double challenge--not only must he protect his tiny friend Jojo (and all the invisible Whos) from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although, Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him, the only one who recognizes "his kind and his powerful heart." Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant, in a story that makes you laugh and cry.
Dr. Seuss has been "one true friend in the universe" to millions of young readers for generations and Seussical The Musical wonderfully brings these valuable stories to audiences via a new medium. The lyrics "kind and powerful heart" from "Notice Me, Horton" appropriately describe the musical as well, and most audience members will be moved by its positive and uplifting messages. Review by Scott Cain.

The Nerd
October 5-7, 12-14, 2012
Now an aspiring young architect in Terre Haute, Indiana, Willum Cubbert has oftern told his friends about the debt he owes to Rick Steadman, a fellow ex-GI whom he has never met but who saved his life after he was seriously wounded in Vietnam. He has written to Rick to say that, as long as he is alive, "you will have somebody on Earth who will do anything for you" -so Willum is delighted when Rick shows up unexpectedly at his apartment on the night of his thirty-fourth birthday party. But his delight soon fades as it becomes apparent that Rick is a hopeless "nerd" - a bumbling oaf with no social sense, little intelligence and less tact. And Rick stays on and on, his continued presence amoung Willum and his friends leading to one uproarious incident after another, until the normally placid Willum finds himself contemplating violence - a dire development which, happily is staved off by the surprising "twist" ending of the play.
