Drawing Goes Here! The Lizard.
This species of small to medium large lizard was originally discovered by one Samuel Alan Lander, from which the lizard gets its name. Originally found in the jungle of Brazil it was at first thought to be related to the salamander, so the fusion of Dr. Lander's name, Sam A. Lander, seemed fitting. It was later discovered that the reptilian was more closely related to the lizard family. It has smooth skin, medium length legs that are used to support it completely off of the ground, binocular vision and a forked tongue....

He is married to the female member of the species who is the love of his life. He works at a business that takes a bunch of little shiny things and makes them into large shiny things. Ooooh, shiny.

The Legend.
Constrcution exists I started off online ca. 1998-1999 on a set of Diablo II forums and needed a handle. Since the one I used for my common handle at the time in games was taken (thankfully) I looked around for a new one. I picked up one of my favoriate books of all time Villians by Necessity by Eve Forward and ganked the name of one of the main characters. (Pardon me if the link dies, I don't know how to hardlink to a book in Amazon.) Amazingly the nickname "Samalander" was almost unheard of on the internet at the time (in a search engine maybe one out of a 1000 links was not me searching for that name was not me, it remained that way for two to three years, now I barely make it to the first page of google.)  I then started building a backstory for my character on that flame-filled forum, I came up with a fire-proof elemental lizard. I didn't want to be anthropomorphic, so I became shape changing. Keep adding steps like that and by the time I had picked up webcomics I had a set character profile that served me well through several warthreads and a couple of 'real' forum role-plays. My online life has gone through several cycles, and currently I'm in a downswing. Working more than 40 hours a week leaves me little time to mess around online.
