Memberships will need to be renewed by expiration date or accumulated
points will be void.
Membership
fees will be used to purchase awards and added money to make more quality
shows. Once you pay a membership fee
points will automatically begin to accrue.
Year-end awards will be presented at our annual IBRA Awards Banquet or at a time designated by IBRA personnel. You
will need to be present to accept your award.
Year-end sponsors will not be required.
Membership
reminders will not be mailed out.
SANCTION FEES:
IBRA sanction fees are $20.00 per show.
NON-MEMBER FEES:
IBRA non-member fees will be $15.00 per person per show
with ADDED MONEY. If there is no added
money then there will not be a non-member fee.
ENTRY FEES:
OPEN: $30.00 - 80%
jackpotted, 20% hosting fee, $2.00 awards fee, $1.00 electric eye UNLESS
there is $500.00 ADDED MONEY, then entry fees increase to $40.00 - 70%
jackpotted, 30% hosting arena, $2.00 awards fee, and $1.00 electric eye. 100% added money is jackpotted. If the Open has substantially more ADDED
MONEY than as stated, only the entry fees may be increased.
40
& OVER: $20.00; YOUTH: $20.00.
80% jackpotted, 20% hosting arena, $2.00 awards fee, and $1.00 electric
eye. PEE WEE: $5.00 (unless awards then it may be
increased).
40
& Over and Youth divisions will have the option of running in the Open and
carrying over their time EXCEPT for any shows that have awards or added money
in these divisions. We will run only one
40 & Over and Youth sanctioned show at all jackpots. You can run in the Open 1st run
and pay both entry fees, but you will need to pay before the Open starts and
designate the horse for the 40 & Over or Youth division, and then that time
will be carried over for you into the 40 & Over or Youth. Otherwise, you can pay and run in the 40
& Over and Youth divisions. We
intend to always run these divisions no matter how many competitors.
The
showing of IBRA cards will be required.
EXHIBITIONS:
Exhibitions
will be offered at all shows and will cost $5.00 per person per run. There will be no timer and we ask that you
use a forward motion only and one time through. Exhibitions will be run at the times
designated on the schedule, show bill or flyer.
QUALIFYING POINT SHOWS:
The
IBRA will have an
unlimited number of point shows with 16 of the point shows qualifying you for
points. At the end of the season, we
will take the points from your best 16 point shows. In case of a tie at year-end, it will be
resolved by the most IBRA shows attended.
CONDUCT:
IBRA membership and participation in IBRA events are a privilege, not a right! Behavior which is damaging to our Association
or its membership will not be tolerated.
It is up to IBRA
personnel to decide when this type of behavior occurs and the member may be
subject to disqualification from IBRA events, be denied entry to IBRA events, loss of points, suspension or termination from
the Association.
SPORTSMANSHIP:
The
IBRA is centered
around bringing you family competition.
Therefore,
we will not allow any of the following:
1.
Going around a
barrel twice (if you are having a bad run, you may finish the pattern, but
under no circumstances do you practice by going around the barrel twice - you
would be on someone else’s ground);
2.
Abuse of a horse
or another individual in any way;
3.
Competing while
under the influence of drugs or alcohol; or
4.
Any type, shape or
form of cheating.
If any of the above occur, you will be looking at the
following:
1st Offense: Warning;
and
2nd Offense: Disqualification
in that show, and not allowed to enter any more IBRA shows for the
remainder of the year.
BARREL PATTERN:
Pattern must meet the following criteria:
1.
Three identical
barrels will be used;
2.
Start/finish line
and barrel positions must be permanently marked and must remain the same
throughout the entire show;
3.
A minimum of 20
feet between each of the first two barrels and side fence;
4.
A minimum of 30
feet between the third barrel and the back fence; and
5.
A minimum of 30
feet between the time line and the first barrel.
Show producers will use a barrel pattern that best fits
the arena, subject to the above. Allow
40 feet to stop in from start/finish line to arena fence, and more if possible.
Ground around the barrels must be reworked after each
10 or fewer contestants have competed.
This amount will be set by the show producers. The working of the ground will need to be
done with a ground tool pulled by some type of motor vehicle. Tractor and digger are preferred if
available.
An electronic device must be used for timing and
capable of timing in one-thousandths.
IBRA will run its shows on a closed gate for everyone. However, you will be allowed to run at the
gate once it is opened, if desired, but only from a reasonable distance.
COMPETITION:
1.
Any time a
contestant crosses the starting line, time will begin.
2.
A contestant will
be given a “no time” for missing the pattern.
3.
A contestant will
be disqualified for running out of turn.
4.
A contestant will
be given a “no time” for knocking over a barrel. A “no time” will also be given if a barrel is
knocked over and it sets up again on either end. However, a tipped barrel that has not fallen
before the contestant reaches the finish line will be considered not tipped. Touching a barrel to keep it from falling, is
permitted.
5.
A contestant will
be given a no time if the horse or rider falls during the run in such a manner
as to break the pattern.
6.
If a barrel is
moved off its marker during competition, the barrel must be reset prior to the
next competitor’s run.
7.
Contestants may
ride any horse, regardless of ownership, and may ride as many horses as they
choose in a class. However, a horse may
not be shown by more than one person in a class.
8.
Entries will close
when the first horse in that class runs, or at an earlier time specified on
schedule, show bill or flyer.
9.
Draw will be done
in a random manner. Under no
circumstances will a contestant be allowed to “pick out” their draw position,
except to accommodate entries with the same horse or rider which have drawn up
close to each other.
10.
Only one horse may
be in the arena at any time during competition.
11.
Reruns shall be
granted if the timer fails to work properly or if the barrels are not placed
properly on their markers. This rerun
may be ran immediately or at the end of the show.
POINTS:
Divisions are determined by time brackets, in the Open,
40 & Over, and Youth, by the fastest time of a contestant in the
class. Whether or not a member of the IBRA will determine the time brackets as follows:
1st division - Fastest time in the class and those who place in
this division.
2nd division - Fastest time in the class plus half second and those
who place in this division.
3rd division - Fastest time in the class plus one second and those
who place in this division.
4th division - Fastest time in the class plus two seconds and those
who place in this division. Please
note: The 4th division is not
limited to a one second interval from two to three seconds off the fastest
time. However, riders must make a good
faith effort to run the pattern as fast as their ability will allow.
Points will be awarded in the Open class in the 4-D
format on a 3-2-1 basis for 1st place through 3rd place,
regardless of the number of entries or paying places. If two or more riders tie, the points for the
tied positions will be added together and divided equally among the riders who
tied. Year-end awards will be given in
the Open division down three places.
Points will be awarded in the Youth and 40 & Over
classes in the 3-D format on a 1st place basis, regardless of the
number of entries on paying places.
Anything not covered in this area will be left to the
discretion of IBRA personnel to determine what is in the best interest.
Should fewer than five horses place in a division
points will be awarded beginning with five points for 1st place.
Points will not be awarded for any run during which a
contestant knocks over a barrel.
Competitors may enter more than one class. For example, competitors in the Youth class
may also qualify in the Open class.
Competitors may ride as many horses as they wish in
each class. However, the competitor with
multiple entries will receive points only for the highest placing horse in each
division.
Points in all classes and divisions are awarded to the
rider.
PAYOUT:
The IBRA Open class will use a 4-D payout, the Youth and 40
& Over classes will use a 3-D or 4-D payout depending upon participation -
show personnel will need to specify.
1.
3-D payout: The total jackpotted entry fees of a class
will be divided 50% to the 1st division - fastest time in class, 30%
to the 2nd division - plus one second off fastest time, and 20% to
the 3rd division - plus two seconds off fastest time.
2.
4-D payout: The total jackpotted entry fees of a class
will be divided 35% to the 1st division - fastest time in class, 30%
to the 2nd division - plus half second off fastest time, 20% to the
3rd division - plus one second off fastest time, and 15% to the 4th
division - plus two seconds off fastest time.
3.
All prize money
will be paid out
4.
Prize money will
not be paid to any contestant who knocks over a barrel.
5.
If not enough
riders qualify in a division as monies to be paid, the money which is
unaccounted for shall be divided equally among those who have placed in that
division. If no riders qualify in a
division, the prize money for that division shall be equally divided among
those riders in the other divisions of that class who have won prize money.
