What to talk about....
Conversation Starters

How do you think God felt on the day you were baptized?
If you were an angel, what would you like to do?
How does your family know when you're crabby?
If your church was on fire and you had time to safely rescue four things, what would you rescue?  (Assume all the people are safe.)
What is there about a flower that impresses you?
If someone asked you what your faith means to you, what would be your response?

January 5th will be Camping Sunday.  We will distribute Lutheran Outdoors Bible camping information.  You'll see what camps are available, hear the stories of "old campers," and look at what dates we would work together to provide transportation.
The church will help again with camperships, and all who go can work together to raise additional money.  Registration, name, $50, etc., will be due on February 2 to Rhonda Karst.
Lutheran Outdoors has a quality, safe, Christ-centered, fun camping program for 3rd Graders and older, even for adults and families.  Check it out!

The 2002 SD Synod Assembly resolved to encourage each congregation to celebrate a "mission of the month" in 8 months of each year.  The purpose is to build mission awareness and to give our people an opportunity to support a mission of the church.  The 2003 Mission schedule is:
January -  Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN
February -  Heartland Ephphatha (a ministry for    the deaf located in Sioux Falls)
March -  Mission Congregation Start-up (the      next one may be in Rapid City)
April -  LYO (Lutheran Youth Organization - the    synodwide youth organization)
May -  Companion Synod Programs (ministry      with our sister churches in Cameroon and      Nicaraugua)
September - Lutheran Campus Ministry
October -  Native American Ministry
November - ELCA World Hunger Appeal
We will share information about the mission at the beginning of each month, pray for it in worship, and give you opportunity to support it with a special offering.
