The ALC Annual Meeting will be Sunday, January 18th at 10:45 a.m., or as soon as possible after the worship service. We will pray over our ministry. We will hear reports on the ministries of our church.
The agenda will include decisions on the 2004 budget and mission plan (our prayers + our dollars + our work = our mission effort), time of worship service, special missionary support, siding of the parsonage, election of new council members, selection of a 2004 ministry emphasis.
  Please come and participate.

Roots & Wings Family Retreat
Valentine's Day Weekend, 2004
Cedar Shores Resort, Chamberlain, SD

The SD Synod offers "Roots and Wings Family Retreat" on Valentines Day Weekend, 2004 at Cedar Shores Resort, Chamberlain, SD. This is for couples and young families. Crossways International is developing family -friendly materials especially for use at the Roots and Wings Retreat. These materials will then be made available to promote Bible study in homes as well as in congregations.
There will be opportunities for families to learn, play, and pray together, as well as separate activities for adults and children. Nursery will be available throughout the weekend. Because it is Valentines Day (!) couples may choose to enjoy an evening alone, while the children are at the 'Love-in/Lock in' led by an Augustana College Outreach Team.
Creative prayer will be woven into each session, and the Prayer Labyrinth will be featured for both children and families. Some workshops to be offered are, "Teach Me to Pray," "Teaching children to Pray," and "The Prayer Labyrinth for Children." Intergenerational activities and workshops will be offered as well.

A Thrivent grant is being sought to provide the take-home materials, to keep costs down so young families can attend the retreat, and to nurture and support family ministry all across the synod!
