Announcements: Welcome to worship, everyone! Pray for our brothers and sisters who are or have been ill: Della Aronson, Bud Walraven, Karl Coning, Shelly Walder, Joann Ries, Bea Wiarda and Walter Kalt. Pray for families of Carl Nolte, Leola Wenzlick, Todd Clark and Bill Coning and all those who mourn. Pray for peace in Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel/Palestine, Sudan and for all nations in conflict. Pray for our military people in Iraq/Afghanistan: Gerry Somsen, Matthew Haug, Jay Goldhorn, Todd Moss, Cole Namken. Pray for students and teachers as they begin the new year. A Mission Prayer: Loving God, we thank you for the diversity among Caribbean nations. We pray for the poor and disadvantaged that they may have hope; for justice and the observance of human rights; for goodness in the midst of the beauty of the region; and for all people that they may live full lives as they continue in or come to faith in Jesus and continue to grow in that faith. A Sunday School teacher or two and substitutes are still needed for the 2004-2005 Sunday School from Sept. 12 to May 15. Call Brenda McKee if you will be a teacher. EVERYONE CAN JOIN IN THE CROP WALK!! The Crop Walk is on Sunday Sept. 12, registration begins at 2:30 and the walk at 3:00 p.m. starting and ending at American Lutheran Church. There will be 3 routes: one about 3 miles, one about 1 ˝ mile and the other a CROP POP (ride a tractor pulled trailer). Please contact Pastor John if you are interested. We encourage CROP walkers, donors, and all to bring a non-perishable food item on September 12 for the Hamlin County Food Pantry. thank you. A servant opportunity: provide plates of 8 bars to be sold at a bake sale benefit for Shelly Walder at the American Legion in Watertown on Sept. 11th from 4:00 p.m. to ?? You can drop them off anytime after noon at the Watertown American Legion on Hwy 212 West. Do not price them. Lutherans Outdoors is holding its annual Quilt Auction at 1:30p.m., today at NeSoDak, Waubay, SD. This is Lutherans Outdoors largest fundraiser, with all proceeds going to the camping ministry of LO. Handmade crafts will be sold. Divorced, Widowed and Separated Support Group will hold registration on Tuesday, September 7th, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception School. It is a non-denominational and sponsored by Catholic Family Services. For more information call Rose Belaen at 874-2073. This has been a very helpful group for people. Take the step, receive and give support. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America sponsors Lutheran Campus Ministries at many public colleges and universities around the country. In SD our Synod sponsors ministries at SDSU, USD, NSU and SDSMT and also provides ministry to young adults at other public and private colleges and tech schools in the state. If your son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter is attending a public or private college. university, or tech school, please encourage them to check out their campus ministry! Also let the church know of their school address and e-mail. If you provide the address and e-mail, we will support them with notes, mailings, etc. It is important for our church to keep in touch. Help us.
