Pray for families all those who mourn. Pray for peace in Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel/Palestine, Sudan, Colombia, and for all nations in conflict. Homecoming Fall Festival and Bake Sale is on Friday, October 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Community Center. Everyone is asked to bring a pie and baked goods & garden vegetables or craft items. Workers are needed. ALCW Officers are needed, especially president and vice-president. Last Sunday was Vision for Mission Sunday. Vision for Mission is an annual offering for the mission of ELCA churchwide. Each member is asked to consider bringing an extra offering (over and above your usual offering) for the churchwide work of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. You may mail it on your own or place a marked envelop or marked on the memo line check in the offering today. Thank you. We have one couple and are seeking 1 or 2 additional couples or single parents, who will attend the Faith Family Style Fall Training at NeSoDak on Oct. 15-16 (5:30p.m. Fri. – 3:00p.m. Sat.) and then help lead a family ministry program at ALC. The registration cost is $65.00/person. The Council will pay a total of $130.00, divided among all that attend. Talk to Pastor ASAP. Thanks to all who came & helped for the workdays at the parsonage. ALC’s Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be Sunday, Nov. 21st at 11:00 a.m. at ALC. Set aside, bring your friends and neighbors. We need 1 or 2 people to step forward to be co-chair this year and leaders of the dinner in 2005. How about you? Talk to Ernie Karst or Rod Fischer. Council has begun a "Bring Karl home" offering to giving each of us an opportunity to help with travel and related expenses to bring Karl Coning-Madsen back to Sioux Falls. Use the Tonka truck box. The ALC adult choir has begun rehearsals on Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to join the choir. Help lead our worship. Prairie Lakes Hospice invites you to learn more about providing volunteer care for our hospice patients and families coping with the final stages of life. Tuesdays for 6 weeks, starting Oct. 5, 2004 at 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. in the West Conference Room at Prairie Lakes Hospital. For more information call Marilyn Petersen at 882-7714. Prairie Lakes Healthcare System will host a Bereavement Support Group beginning Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Lobby Conference Room on the first floor of Prairie Lakes Hospital.
