Pray for those who mourn: for Jack and Barbi Schulte & family at the death of Jack’s Grandmother, Iona Mors. Pray for our soldiers in Iraq and Kuwait including Dana Walraven and Michael Janssen. Lenten Services continue this Wednesday, March 17 at 7:00 p.m. Our theme is "The Passion of Our Lord." Services are one-half hour. Plan to attend each Lenten and Holy Week service so that you are preparing yourself well for the celebration of Easter. You are invited to the Regional Meeting this Saturday on the ELCA Study of Ordination of Gays & Lesbians in Committed Relationships and Blessing of Same Sex Unions at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is a $5 registration to cover a meal and coffee breaks. We are 2 months behind in sending in our Benevolence for the mission work of the church. We are considering beginning a nursery during our Sunday morning worship service. It is a wonderful way to respond to our Lord’s love with our care for young people at risk in South Dakota. The Fellowship Offering today will help our Lutheran Outdoors Bible Campers go to Bible Camp this summer. Thank you for your support! The Education Committee is looking for a volunteer or volunteers to coordinate VBS. We are also looking for teachers, helpers and craft coordinators. Pastor John will facilitate a discussion of the ELCA study on Ordination of Practicing Gay and Lesbian persons and the Blessing of Same Sex Unions beginning on Wednesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Bjoern Meinhardt of Colman-Midway Lutheran Churches is leading a tour to Luther sites in Germany, November 4-15.. Our worship service is on television again. See it on ITC Cable TV in Castlewood on Channel 1 on Thursdays at 12:30 & 7 p.m. There are some openings at LO camps. If you want to go see Robin Gabur. WELCA Medary Conference Spring Convention will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church in Brookings on Sat. April 17. Did you know that LSS receives referrals from school systems, the Department of Social Services, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Department of Corrections. One out of two children referred are turned away from treatment at LSS because of limited facilities. At the same time, aging facilities are presenting increasing challenges. Support group for divorced, widowed and separated persons will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 7:00p.m. at Immaculate Conception School, 109 3rd Street SE, Watertown, SD.
